Susan M. Galeas, MSW, MPH, President & CEO, The Family Center
Susan has 20+ years of nonprofit management, development, public policy, and marketing experience… specifically working to transform organizations into fiscally healthy, mission driven, and highly successful entities by integrating vision, creativity, strategy, engagement, and a “focus on good.” She is currently President & CEO of The Family Center in Nashville, Tennessee where she is working with the board and staff to overcome cycles of challenges, much like the organization works with families to overcome cycles of trauma. Prior to locating to Nashville in July 2017, Susan served as President & CEO of Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles (fka Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter) for 6+ years, including guiding the organization’s transition from a 501c3 with an affiliated status connected to a national brand to a newly branded entity that still continues to thrive. Her experience includes leadership positions in various types of nonprofits from a Children’s Advocacy Center to a Center for Nonprofits to the Girl Scouts. She earned her BA in Psychology (Minor Sociology) from Loyola University, New Orleans, her Master of Social Work from Tulane University, and her Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine (New Orleans). Susan is the proud mom of a 29-year-old, singer, songwriter, and yoga instructor, as well as three fur babies… one canine, two feline (Jax, Jaquomo, & Gumbo Nugget). She loves traveling and reading and snow!
