
Tim Boyd, Historian
Tim Boyd was born in London and studied History & Economics at St. John’s College, Oxford University. He came to Nashville in 2002 to pursue a PhD in U.S. History at Vanderbilt. His dissertation was published by the University of Florida press in 2012 under the title “George Democrats, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Shaping of the New South.” Since 2010, he has worked at Montgomery Bell Academy, where he serves as the Academic Dean and teaches AP History.
