Ron Gobbell & Michelle Scopel, GHP Architects with the 2nd Avenue Response & Recovery Efforts

Ron is a founding partner of the award-winning architectural, environmental, and construction services consulting firm GHP, Inc. Throughout Ron’s career, GHP has impacted more than 8,000 buildings from Alaska to Dubai. He has also been recognized as a pioneer in the development of downtown Nashville and active in the revival of historic Nashville icons—including Printer’s Alley, Second Avenue, the Ryman Alley, and the Fifth Avenue of the Arts.

As GHP’s President Emeritus, Ron currently provides project management for The Fairgrounds Nashville and Major League Soccer Stadium. In 2021, Nashville Mayor John Cooper appointed Ron as Project Manager of the rebuild of Second Avenue following the Christmas Day bombing due to Ron’s passion for historic architecture and his enduring commitment to Nashville’s downtown community.

Michelle Scopel has over 17 years of experience in Environmental Consulting and Project Management.  She has been an instrumental part of GHP for 8 years, working on the First Horizon Park project, the Fairgrounds Campus Improvements Projects, and most recently the Second Avenue Response and Recovery.  She is quick to lean in on complex projects and keep the team moving forward in a positive way.

Mrs. Scopel has Program Management experience for projects ranging from a small stream restoration to a multi-million-dollar high-profile projects and has a knack for finding creative ways to resolve issues.  She exceeds expectations in communication and organization and is a true team player.
